I am a former California 8 year CCOF certified organic farmer now residing in Molalla, Oregon. I am seeking one -two acres of tillable land in Clackamas county to grow specialty garlic and a specific tomato. Prefer land that would qualify for organic certification but open to a conventional parcel. Water supply not needed for the garlic but will need water for tomato crop. I utilize drip irrigation. Garlic will be sold as seed, tomatoes to Portland chefs.
flat land, full sun with available water to irrigate tomatoes during summer.
I operated a certified organic farm in Southern California from 2010-2017 before selling my operation and moving to Oregon in 2018. I grew an extensive assortment of row crops for farmers market and operated a CSA, and restaurant sales. I also grew seed garlic for High Mowing Organic Seeds.
I am close to retirement from a 30 year career in sales management for a large international consumers goods company. I miss farming and seek to get back into a couple of specialty crops in advance of retiring to supplement my income and develop relationships in the Oregon farm community.
create a profitable, small scale specialty business that generates income, tax benefits and allows for winter travel and rest..
none needed.
My previous farm employed young people of diverse backgrounds and interests. I sold my farm to one of my employees and financed a young farmer at zero interest for five years. I have been a member of WWOOF Intl. and hosted people from USA, Spain, France, Brazil, Mexico to assist on our farm in exchange for room and board.
