I am a mother of two young children, shepherd of hair sheep and goats, and a part-time farmhand (in addition to tending my own little farm). I am seeking pasture to graze my animals on. We have a small pasture, and I hope to increase number of head over the next few years, but are financially limited in owning more land. Our animals are raised following organic practices in order to provide meat to the community. I am always looking for ways to build the soil and use regenerative and conservation methods to improve conditions. I rotationally graze the animals, using electo-net fencing.
I am open to creative solutions, including but not limited to work for trade, lease, lease to own, and seasonal changes.
Barn or shelter for animals is important, ideally some tree shade, and irrigation on smaller acreage, although not essential on more acreage.
I took a small farms class through OSU in 2014, have been gardening for most of my life, and started a small flock of sheep in 2018, adding goats in 2019. I work as a farmhand/ranch hand outside of Ashland and am forever student of the natural wonders of the earth and the cycles of life that inhabit it.
Short-term goal is to raise meat animals in a way that regenerates and builds the soil, while providing high quality, organic food for the community and my family.
I hope to diversify what I am doing, adding chickens and other livestock, eventually milking goats or cow, and growing vegetables and fruits.
None at the moment, unless there is opportunity to purchase an existing farm
Whatever it takes. I have an inclusive nature and would love to work with any and all types of people. I love learning from others and sharing knowledge.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
