Land Seeker Description

Fifth generation farmer seeking dirt to love and improve. I currently garden about a 1/4 acre mini farm with bees, rabbits and chickens and a big garden. I want to expand on poultry production, eggs and meat, ducks, garden produce, more bee hives, and in the end dairy, fiber, and larger meat livestock. Organic practices, but not certified. I do everything by hand with people power.

What features of the property are essential?

Well is good, power is nice, woodland is exciting, indoor plumbing is a plus. Set up structures (barn, coops) are a bonus.

Describe your farming experience

Family of farmers, grew up gardening and raising goats, meat cows, chickens, pigs. Family is from the Idaho panhandle, never had power or water till high school age. Currently sell eggs, meat chickens, rabbits and produce to friends and neighbors.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Soil improvement, invasive removal, large produce garden, chickens and ducks for egg production. Possible sales at farmers market, or excellent farmstand.

What are your long term goals

Maple trees for syrup, larger livestock, dairy for milk and cheese, goat herd. Geese or guinea fowl for guard honks. Apple trees for cider, bigger garden, feed production for livestock. Raspberrys, grapes, peach trees, mushroom cultivation.

Describe your housing needs

Basic, room enough for crafts and home brew, water and wood heat is a good thing. A well and a porch would make me happy. I usually spend my time outside anyway.
