I would like a smaller farm somewhere near Portland, Oregon, around 45 mins to an hour of travel time. I would like to live on the farm with my two dogs and cat. I would like a deal where I pay to live on the farm as a caretaker but have the farm owner in charge of the crop. This is a line of income for me plus the opportunity to live on a farm. I would get a percentage of the profits from the crop. I would like to stay one year. I would be available starting this September but that can be flexible. I would like to have mentoring or contact with the owner or manager easily. I could pay cash for the leash up front and would like to know if your crop can be insured. I can work with any crop. I have not managed a farm but I have worked on a friends farm. I am also going to take the small farm workshop from OSU. I would like to establish a relationship and get to know you and your farm before I move in. I live in Oregon City and I am happy to come out to your place and meet you, and spend time on your farm. Also you are welcome to come over to my house in Oregon City and see how I care for my home and garden with pond.
I need a house that I can live in comfortably, reliable heat, electricity and sewer or septic system.
I have done several day long workdays at a friends farm. Also I had a pet sitting business for two years.
I would like to stay one year. I am doing this to have the experience of living on a farm plus the line of income that the farm brings.
In a year or two I would like to buy a home in Newberg and possibly get a degree in Bible studies from George Fox University. I am planning on buying rentals in Newberg and the Oregon Coast and might like to sometimes repeat my farming experience by spending a year on your farm again or on a different farm. Basically if you want to take off for a year again you can contact me and that would work out.
I would like to live in at least a two bedroom one full bath house, preferably bigger. Also if you leave your furniture it would be nice if you had a space where I could store mine.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
