We have a 219 farm/ranch in Eastern Oregon, about 50 miles west of Hermiston. It’s a lot of grazeable hills, with about 50 acres total of bottom, a creek, water rights, 20 acres in irrigated pasture/hay field with potential of another 10-15. We’ve got a large garden area, a big greenhouse, a pond, barns, working corrals and chutes, and a lot of potential, but limitied time. We’d like to find someone who needs a place to run some critters of their own and can work our place. I’d love to find someone with multi-species experience, some carpentry skills, a green thumb, and the ambition to establish a clientele for grass-fed, home-raised meats, or combination of those, as that’s our ultimate ambition. We currently raise a few hogs and couple hundred chickens, and Katahdin sheep, and would like to expand upon all those, plus add cattle. We live in the only house, but there might be the potential for a 5th wheel or something similiar.
Getting everything cleaned up, fenced tightly, repaired; we bought it in a kind of sorry state
Having a tidy, pristine small working ranch that raises 4/5 species of grass-fed, home-raised meat, hosts farm-to-table dinners, and offers farm stays to help others learn about where their food actually comes from.
Lived on, raised grass hay last year, grazed a few horses, sheep, a couple cows
Well and creek, for up to 47 acres
Varies, but usually ph 6 or 7 and above
Two barns, equipment shed row, corrals and chutes, big greenhouse
65hp Kioti tractor, small baler, swather, bale wagon, flatbed trailer, shop, woodshop tools, fencing tools, plows, drag.
