This is a beautiful, naturally diverse property in an ideal location. Im surrounded by mostly homesteads and some timber. No spraying or CAFOs around! Located right next to a quaint general store and eatery.
I would like to partner with experienced farmers who will value this property and hopefully utilize some of the animals who currently reside here. My hope is to create an arrangement where my farm name and staple products remain. I would like to plant the field in very wide rows of apples and pears which will eventually provide shade for my poultry and ruminants. I have a contract with NRCS and soil and water for conservation cover and cross fencing, and a main to bring water down the field to the paddocks.
This may be a long term situation. Essentially I would like this property to be a pilot farm for another location.
I have 7 dual purpose dairy cows (who could just make and nurse beef steers), hogs, fallow crop land, have antique apples grafted but not yet planted in the field
Large pond, springs, with 32ac irrigation Rights
Excellent Jory soils, check out soil survey
Two lean-tos, large shop, greenhouse, 2 large homes
Tractor (massy 245 w bucket and brushhog), various tools, an old farmtruck (which need a mechanic), a walk behind tiller (which needs a mechanic)
farm has approx 30ac in riparian/forest which has been beneficial for shade and grazing for my cows. I had begun utilizing the hogs to reclaim areas taken over by blackberries.
To contact a land holder, you must first fill out a land seeker profile and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
