I have two kids. I would like to make sure they understand/see where their food comes from. In addition, I’d like whoever farms our land to be OK with occasionally teaching kids about farming as we are next door to the local K-8 school (Skyline Elementary School).
We just drilled a well (519 ft) and it produces approx 17G/min. We are currently remodeling the 1932 farmhouse on the property and will take approx 1 acre of the 3 total acres. The other 2 acres will be left for farming. The land is currently growing clover and alfalfa for hay. We're going to put in a fence around the property, a small barn at the back of the property and will work with whoever ends up farming these 2 acres on irrigation, etc. We're looking to have a small farm where the farmer(s) keep 1/2 of all that it produces, we donate 1/4 to the local food bank or local K-8 school and we take 1/4 of the harvest for our own family. We would like vegetables, fruit, bees, goat(s) and chickens to start.
sustainably produce food and revenue for the farmers, food for the less fortunate/local school and food for our family of 4.

Easy to see on Google Maps, we are going to remodel the old farmhouse on the front of the property.
