Approximately 135 acres of land for farm use. Land is immediately adjacent to Jefferson Highway and is easily accessible by road. There are no permanent structures or equipment on the land. Soil quality is high, so land is best suited for crops. Please inquire with any questions.
Looking for someone to grow short term seasonal crops on the land - nothing woody or permanent.
Primarily the goal is to preserve the land and not engage in destructive habits for short term gains. There are some wooded areas on the property - may consider clearing a bit of that out to increase total farmable area. Possible improvements are up for discussion.
Considering the potential of transitioning the property into something driven by a more socially conscious effort than simply turning a profit (government grant programs, research, etc.). Have not investigated that yet but it is a possibility.
Not currently being used - crops were being grown on the land and will likely need to be tilled up.
There are water rights associated with all farmable acres of the land. Water comes from a nearby lake.
No buildings on the land.
The water rights stipulate that the total farmable area must be irrigated at least once every five years, so this must be taken into consideration to maintain rights.
