My husband, little daughter and I have a 9.8 acre farm in Scotts Mills, OR. Looking for a temporary or potentially long-term lease situation with organic (certified or not) farmers with some experience. We’re located on cleared, relatively flat, pastured land, with a good well, rich soils, and full sun exposure. We will be doing some small-scale vegetable, fruit, and berry production here as well, with a few sheep, many cats, and kids.
We would like to find a way to keep the farm productive and keep blackberries at bay.
I would like to see a small-scale, integrated farm (garden, orchard, managed pasture, vineyard/berries, wood lot) take up the large pasture we have now.
The acres that are available for lease have been kept as a pasture for our small flock of sheep, but it's much more than they need. We've been cutting it for hay.
Very fertile, well drained soil.
Water could be an issue, because we only have one well that also services our house. We haven't had any issues running out of water yet, but we should be water-conscious in whatever we decide to do.
To contact a land holder, you must first fill out a land seeker profile and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
