We are a beautiful 100-year-old working farmstead with 5 to 10+ acres available for non chemical farming.
There is a very good area for a large market garden (2-3 acres) that can be irrigated from the year round ‘spring fed’ farm pond.
The soil is very fertile, and does not require much to make it extremely productive.
In addition there are several acres available for rotational grazing, but would require adequate livestock fencing.
Owner is currently operating a successful business with guest rentals, horses and some small livestock . Owner would also be interested in sharing some space and farm buildings in exchange for help in raising a few fiber animals and sustainably and ethically pasture raised American Guinea Hogs for meat.
Housing available for the right applicant.
Potential match would need to be open to all aspects of sustainable farming practices. And have some working knowledge of farming and an understanding of the intense hours required to maintain a working farm.
Please Note: Any potential lessor must also be aware that the aesthetics of the garden and surrounding property are important to the overall look of the property. And safety and cleanliness are paramount!
Continue sustainable hay production, host an organic or no spray market veg. garden. Some small animals, chickens, pigs, sheep. Maintain the landscaping to enjoy the beauty of the farm as a retreat with a Farm to Table Venue' as well as a working farm.
We have bees too!
Plant and maintain some kind of sustainable market garden or organic crop that will support our food needs.
Expand what we currently offer guests (the opportunity to get away from the city and enjoy the rural way of life). Incorporate some wellness getaways, nature walks, etc...
Would love to have a working relationship with some like minded folk who can see the vision for this amazing property. The possibilities are limitless!
40 acres now in trees.
Roughly 10 acres in quality grass hay for owner's horses.
Additional acreage suitable for grazing pasture... Owner interested in American Guinea Hog breeding for meat.
Orchard heirloom apples and pears
Farm pond would require pump for market garden/orchard irrigation....
Rich alluvial, no irrigation system at present but there is a spring fed pond that can be utilized.
Clean, spacious 2 bedroom DBW. Possible large upper barn with add on 'office space' available.
