We are looking for a responsible person to try and set up a viable farming operation that could include a CSA operation and growing out other crops for sale. We would mentor the new user of the land. Current Use

The land is under utilized and the Class ! soil type is Malabon silty clay loam. It is an excellent growing soil. Most of the unused land is maintained as a regularly mowed fallow prairie site. For over 20 years this has been a non spray farm, organic but not certified, with a wide variety of bird and insect life including a large range of native pollinators. This is a varied habitat.

We are in the process of building greenhouses and equipment storage buildings and other accessory farm building to support an expanded farm operation. The operator will need to provide their farming equipment except as noted below. We have power and water.

We have a large variety of hand tools, sprinklers and hoses to be used in the operation.


Any Restrictions That Could Limit Agricultural Production

We are zoned EFU so there are no zoning restrictions. Lack of skill and ability of the new user could be a limiting aspect to production. Living too far from the farm could prevent full time farming which is required during the planting and growing season.
