Amana Ranch is a small grass-based multi-speciated family farm located 15 short miles west of Portland, Oregon in the heart of Washington County. We strive to raise stress-free and chemical-free livestock using biodynamic farming and holistic management practices.
The farm sits on 10 acres that were previously owned by Metro. Our goal is to restore this land into a vibrant, sustainable, and biodynamic multi-speciated model farm. The land is a triangular shape with the apex pointing north. At the base, there is a wooded area with a creek running at the southern border of the property. The acreage slopes down and is bordered by NW Susbauer Road which does see a lot of traffic.
There is a lot of work to be done around the farm and we just don’t have the time to do it all. We’re interested in partnering with someone (a couple or even a family) who share the same passion to heal and nurture this land. We currently maintain a small flock of sheep, goats, and egg laying hens. We would like to bring in bees and miniature cattle and make the farm suitable for farm and educational tours.
Continue to put some key infrastructure in place and bring in more sales.
Turn the farm into a model sustainable and regenerative multi-speciated farm with multiple revenue streams (including workshops and farm tours) showcasing novel permaculture ideas being put to use.
We currently grow stess-free and chemical-free pastured meats and eggs using permaculture and holistic management practices.
We currently use a well to water plants and livestock. We have a creek in the back of the property that we're not currently using. We're also thinking about rain water catchment to take advantage of the sloping of the acreage.
