We have a 40-acre property in the Willamette Valley, mostly fenced with some minor repairs needed in a few spots. About 25 acres are enclosed and used for farming, currently home to two Dexter cattle. The property is next to a river with snowmelt water, which provides reliable irrigation for the land. There is a barnyard area with a 5-stall barn, one of which is occupied by a female pig, and there’s room for more. We also have mostly free-range chickens in a small, movable coop.
We’re transitioning from city life to farming and looking for people who are genuinely interested in organic permaculture and sustainable farming practices. We have a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home and are open to sharing the space with others who are willing to work the land and share responsibilities around the house. If you’re only interested in farming, leasing the land without housing is also an option. We’re not looking for traditional roommates; we’re looking for people who want to get their hands in the dirt and help build something sustainable together.
We’re working on improving the land and getting the animals and crops established. The immediate focus is on finding people who want to farm the land and help with daily chores. If you have a specific vision for crops or livestock, we’re open to collaboration.
We want to build a community-oriented farm that focuses on sustainable practices. Over time, we hope to turn the land into a fully functioning permaculture farm that can produce food, support livestock, and serve as a resource for learning and collaboration in a low-key, open-minded environment.
The land is being used on a limited basis for livestock grazing (2 Dexter cattle) and is set up for rotational grazing. The barnyard has a female pig and room for more animals. We have free-range chickens, and the land is available for crops or other farming projects that align with organic practices.
Assumed to be great for farming.
We have a five-stall barn with a hay loft, hot water, and electricity, as well as a large workshop with its own septic, hot water, and electricity. Both buildings can be used for farm work, storage, or livestock care.
You’ll have access to a tractor with a tiller, seeder, forklift, and post-hole driller, as well as a rototiller and other hand tools. The farm has irrigation pipes, and the property has full water rights with separate electrical power for agricultural use.
There are no known zoning restrictions, conservation easements, or water rights issues that would limit farming or agricultural production.
We’re committed to creating an open, inclusive space where people can work together and build something meaningful. We’re looking for folks who are down-to-earth, committed to the land, and willing to work collaboratively. Whether you’re experienced or new to farming, we’re focused on building a welcoming environment for all who share our values. LGBTQIA+ friendly with power and solidarity to all the people1
