2-5 acres for lease on a 22 acre small farm in Silverton

Description

Our 22 acre farm is located just above the Willamette Valley floor and surrounded by hundreds of forested acres. It is a beautiful property with productive soils and a year-round spring. All buildings are in excellent condition and are well-maintained.

Owner’s Short Term Vision for the Property

We are looking for an experienced farmer or farming couple to expand our operation to sell at market and within 2-3 years supply our son's Portland restaurant with specialty fruits, vegetables, herbs and some meats. We intend to continue to expand the gardens for vegetables and fruits, improve the pastures, construct a high tunnel and finish the new chicken house.

Owner’s Long Term Vision for the Property

Our long term vision is to improve and diversify the farm for the mutual benefit of our family and an experienced farmer or farming couple. We see the potential for a successful future marketing the farm's products and working in coordination with our son's restaurant.

Current Use

Our farm currently has about one acre in fruits and vegetables, 7 in pasture, 9 acres of woods, plus a 4 acre farmstead. We have spent the last four years improving the farm's infrastructure. We planted a small orchard, expanded the gardens, added fencing and extended the irrigation system. We have no livestock presently, but we are planning for poultry and hogs again this year, sheep and goats in the future with a bit more fencing work.

Available Water / Irrigation

The water comes from a spring on the property. Irrigation system in place.

Soil Type / Quality

Soil analysis available for review. Nekia silty-clay loam. 2-4% slopes.
